Celebrate International Country Music Day With These Massive Tunes

Publish date: 2024-05-31

Today is International Country Music Day and to celebrate this fantastic day of music we here at Celeb Mix thought we would put together a playlist of our top-ten country hits. But our list has a twist as we will be focusing on new releases from our favourite artists rather than listing our all time top-ten.

So settle down, turn the volume loud and enjoy these massive hits from the likes of Shania Twain, Ward Thomas, Lady Antebellum, and many, many more.

1: Shania Twain – We Got Something They Don’t

We start our top-ten with this newest release from the queen of country music; Shania Twain. The sultry track is taken from Twain’s upcoming album ‘Now‘ which will be released on September 22nd. Once again she has turned the genre on its head by featuring a trumpet section in this catchy song;

2: Ward Thomas – Material

Record breaking UK country duo Ward Thomas are at number 2 with their last single release from their record making number 1 album ‘Cartwheels‘. The twin sisters broke ground with the official music video for this hit single, with an interactive and normal version being available to fans;

3: The Shires – Drive

At number 3 we celebrate another tremendous UK country act; The Shires. The duo released this hit single off their massive selling sophomore LP ‘My Universe‘ back in April. The track is a huge fan favourite and the lyric video for the single is brilliant;

4: Lady Antebellum – Heart Break

In at number 4 is the newest release from US trio Lady Antebellum. This catchy new song is the title track off their massive number 1 album ‘Heart Break‘. The single only got sent to country radio this past week so we are still awaiting an official music video for the brilliant song;

5: Brett Young FT Una Healy – In Case You Didn’t Know

At number 5 we have this stunning collaboration from US country star Brett Young, and pop star turned country sensation Una Healy. The pair teamed up beautifully on this hit single which originally featured on Young’s debut self-titled album without a female voice;

6: Sarah Darling – Montmartre

In at number 6 we have this stunning track from US country star Sarah Darling. Her vocals are as sweet as honey and the official video for this gorgeous piece of music helps bring the story to life on the streets of Paris. The track is lifted from Darling’s hit LP ‘Dream Country‘;

7: Kevin McGuire – Alright, Tonight

This brilliant track is taken from the UK’s newest country star Kevin McGuire’s debut EP ‘Foreign Country‘. McGuire’s country tone is something very special and this hit single really puts him on the map as the next big thing;

8: Charles Kelley – Lonely Girl

At number 8 we have this solo release from Lady Antebellum’s Charles Kelley. During the bands two year hiatus Hillary, Dave, and Charles branched out on their own and Kelley released his hit solo album ‘The Driver‘. This gorgeous single is taken from that LP;

9: Carolynne – Cupid Must Have Been High

At number 9 we have another UK talent. With the release of debut EP ‘Coming Back To Me‘, Carolynne brought out her inner Shania Twain and released this toe-tapping, sassy track. It really showcases her immense talent and sets her apart from the rest;

10: Shania Twain FT Nick Jonas – Party For Two

Rounding out the top-ten is this surprising but utterly brilliant collab between Shania Twain and Nick Jonas. Yes we have cheated a little as this isn’t an official single as they only performed it live at Stagecoach, but Nick Jonas singing country was too good to leave out;

Happy International Country Music Day everyone! We hope you enjoyed our playlist. Which track is your favourite? Let us know your thoughts over on Twitter @CelebMix
