Hey Cal, how are you today? What have you been up to lately?

I’m good, thank you, and recently I’ve been writing my own music, producing and rehearsing. Also, learning songs on the piano and guitar.

You recently performed at National Student Pride and Pop Shock Live, what was that like? And how did you cope performing twice in a day?

Yeah, that’s right, Student Pride was an interesting event to perform at as I have never performed at an event like that and neither has anybody else that I am friends with in the industry. However, I enjoyed performing there as it was a different audience to normal. I was under pressure; I have been told by many people that I perform better whilst under pressure so it was interesting to see how I would get on. We travelled straight from Student Pride to Pop Shock, where I performed there a few hours later. I didn’t feel under pressure performing twice in a day, in fact, I enjoyed it because I love performing; on a stage is where I feel most at home.

Next up is the Alstar Music EP Tour, how excited are you be a part of this tour?

I am so buzzed for the tour, I love touring and meeting all the supporters and especially performing. A lot of artists will tell you this; when a crowd sings back to you whilst on stage, it is the best feeling and each and every single city we go to, the crowd sings back and it is so amazing, I love it. I am also so excited for the supporters to hear my new music, and I can’t wait to perform it!

Since it’s an EP Tour, have you decided what song you’ll be contributing to the EP?

Yeah the song that I’m contributing to the EP Is called “Stay”. It’s basically about a boy saying to a girl, who he loves, that his love is safe with her; his love will stay.

How have you been preparing for this tour?

As I’m still in the process of writing and producing my own music I have been looking for new songs to perform on the tour alongside “Stay”. I’ve been rehearsing my new song each day to make sure that I get it right. I’ve been doing lots of press interviews, warm-up gigs, as well as lots of online vocal coaching; my vocals are one of the main reasons why I’m at the stage I am right now; so, making sure my vocals are at their best etc is very important.

What can we expect from your set?

You will be seeing lots more movement on stage, lots more energy and also a lot more interaction. Each and every gig my confidence builds and builds; at the start of my career I would literally just stand in the middle of the stage with the mic stand and sing; my confidence has grown and grown since then. I just hope one day I would get the chance to perform to a crowd of thousands and to be able to have a full choreographed dance with backing dancers etc. Honestly, that’d be my dream.

We’d totally be there for that! What do you make of the other artists on the tour?

I love the other artists so much, they are all like family to me; we have already toured once, we all knew each other before the first tour but not so well, so to actually be able to get to know them properly was amazing.

What city are you most looking forward to visiting?

I love performing in London, most of my family are from London so I like to call it home. However, I do love to perform In Glasgow, Manchester and Dublin.

Only part one of the dates for the Alstar Music EP Tour has been decided, what cities do you hope will be announced?

I always get supporters asking to go to Brighton, so I hope we get to go there; I’ve always wanted to go to Brighton. I also hope that soon we would be able to branch outside of the UK and start to do European dates; there are lots of supporters in France, Poland and other places that get upset that they can’t see me and the rest of the artists.

You were also a part of the Alstar Xmas Party Tour, what is it about Alstar Music that you like so much?

I just love the loyalty, we are like a mini family, when we’re touring we are unstoppable. The tour itself has been put together by somebody that has been in the industry for years, he knows what he is doing and it is amazing that we have the chance to do this tour.

What can we expect from you for the rest of the year?

You can expect, maybe, my own EP tour, lots of new music and also lots of new videos!

Finally, have you got a special message for your fans?

Yeah, I do. Hey everyone, without all of you I wouldn’t be having this interview, right now. I would like to thank each and every one of you for supporting me, we are a family, I can’t wait to meet you all, I love you Turners.

Thank you, Cal, for the interview, and we wish you the best of luck on the Alstar Music EP Tour, we’re sure you’ll rock the stage. We’re especially excited for new music and hearing “Stay”.
